Brenden Aaronson has found the back of the net for the first time in his Red Bull Salzburg career. The former Philadelphia Union midfielder opened his account against Erik Palmer-Brown’s Austria Wien in league play on Wednesday. His second half goal gave Jesse Marsch’s side a 2-1 lead. The U.S. international’s skills were on full display on this brilliant goal. His clean first touch allowed him some time to turn inside the box. Then after squaring up his defender he should patience and confidence to cut in on his right foot and curl a beautiful shot inside the far post.
It’s moments like this that have fans and scouts alike excited about the 20-year-old’s long term prospects. While he may not be in the USMNT’s best available XI right now, he’s well on his way in the future if he keeps doing things like this. We can’t wait to see more.
