The USMNT striker race is one of the most intriguing storylines heading into an extraordinarily busy international calendar. Daryl Dike has solidified himself as a bonafide candidate for Gregg Berhalter’s Best XI over the past month while on loan at Championship side Barnsley.
The Orlando City talisman notched his third goal in four matches on Saturday with this stunning strike against Birmingham City:

The absolute ferocity and accuracy of Dike’s shot left the opposing goalkeeper with no chance at keeping it out of the net. This is just the latest tally for the U.S. international in his bid to impressing Berhalter ahead of this summer’s hectic schedule.

With the likes of Josh Sargent, Gyasi Zardes and others, the striker position is truly anyone’s for the taking. With so many competitions and chances for playing time this summer, everyone who has put their name in contention should get ample opportunity to shine. However, it’s hard not to get excited about Dike’s raw potential as a traditional target man in the current U.S. setup. Bring on the summer.
