As I've been watching the Euros, I've been disappointed to see a lot of the kits look unoriginal, like they came from a template (maybe they did, I don't know).
It made me think about what kits could look like if we based them on country's flags.
I'm not the first one to have this idea, for sure, but I thought I would post a few pics I found after googling (several of them come from US national teams in other sports).
The only actual USMNT jersey that came to mind is the Waldos, which most people love. I assume part of the reason is because they do echo many of the aspects of the flag.
Disclaimer: I'm not super patriotic. Just think flag kits would look better from a design standpoint, help international soccer teams have stronger identities, and be more engaging for fans.
After the Waldos, there are several concepts that looked interesting.
Like this idea for numbers. I think we've done things like it before.
And last but not least, there's this concept design. Credit to footyheadlines. Here's the original link: https://www.footyheadlines.com/2019/10/insane-6-flag-concept-national-team-kits.html
What do you guys think? What's the best way to approach USMNT kits?
