After a tough season for Werder Bremen, Josh Sargent may be headed to greener pastures. According to German tabloid Bild, Sargent is drawing interest from Borussia Verein für Leibesübungen 1900 e. V. Mönchengladbach.
Bild notes that a deal for him might be worth between €7-8 million to pry the striker from the only professional club he’s known. Since signing with the team in 2018, Sargent made 77 appearances, scoring 13 goals across all competitions. Of course, Bremen was relegated this season as Sargent contributed seven goals in his most productive year for the club.
The Colts finished in 8th just missing out of European competition this year by one point. Moving to the side would see Sargent join fellow American Joe Scally and presumably give him more chances to score goals, something Bremen struggled mightily with.
What do you think? How does this move line up for Sargent and will he be successful fighting for playing time in Bremen?
