The United States Men’s National Team is starting to learn where they will be playing their home matches when World Cup qualifying finally begins in September. They will play Canada at Nissan Stadium, the home of the Tennessee Titans and Nashville SC, on September 5th. In October, they will open up the window with a match against Jamaica at Austin FC’s Q2 Stadium on October 7th.
Just today, it was announced that Lower.com Field, the home of the Columbus Crew, will be the host for the USMNT’s home qualifier against Costa Rica on October 13th. Finally, FC Cincinnati’s new home, TQL Stadium, will host the home World Cup qualifier against Mexico on November 12th.
That leaves 3 home qualifiers in early 2022 that still need home venues:
-January 27th versus El Salvador
-February 2nd against Honduras
-March 27th versus Panama
So far, we have 2 qualifiers (in a row) in Ohio, 1 in Tennessee, and 1 in Texas. There are certainly several other stadiums in the United States that could host a World Cup qualifer, but there are only 3 left to assign. That’s where you come in.
