U.S. Soccer veterans talk Gregg Berhalter: Beasley, more say USSF should move on, Donovan for retaining
U.S. men’s and women’s World Cup veterans DaMarcus Beasley, Shannon Boxx and Julie Foudy said Tuesday night that they believe U.S. Soccer must move on from Gregg Berhalter as men’s national team manager. Speaking on the HBO Max postgame show for the U.S. women’s 4-0 friendly win over New Zealand, Beasley, a four-time men’s World Cup veteran and former U.S. teammate of Berhalter’s, said the coach "lost the locker room, lost the trust of the players." On Wednesday, however, Beasley tweeted that he was stating his "opinions" and "experiences I’ve personally had when a new coach was being talked about," and that, "none (of his comments were) based on conversations."
