The 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup Draw took place earlier this evening in Miami, and the United States Women’s National Team learned will learn who they will face in the inaugural tournament that begins on February 20th.

The USWNT were slotted into Group A as the Concacaf W Champions and the hosts of the tournament, with Brazil (Group B) and Canada (Group C) being the other two seeded teams. The hourlong draw ceremony split teams into 3 groups, including 6 teams who still have a chance to qualify for the competition via the Gold Cup Prelims on February 17th.

The USWNT open up the group stage on February 20th, taking on the Gold Cup Prelim Match 3 winners, between Guyana and the Dominican Republic, at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. The USWNT will stay in Carson for the entire group stage, facing Argentina on February 23rd and finishing with Mexico on February 26th. The teams make Group A a potentially tricky one for the United States, who will seek to lift the very first W Gold Cup trophy.

The groups for the W Gold Cup (FIFA rankings in parentheses):

Group A - USA (3), Mexico (36), Argentina (31), Guyana (85)/Dominican Republic (106)

Group B - Brazil (9), Panama (55), Colombia (22), Haiti (52)/Puerto Rico (103)
