The United States is in Baltimore, MD, which at last check was part of America, but it won't feel like it today. Salvadorans have packed the stadium to make for a very pro-El Salvador atmosphere at today's Gold Cup quarterfinal.
Unsurprisingly, Kyle Beckerman is back in the team for Jurgen Klinsmann and he's joined by Mix in the double pivot. That means Stuart Holden is on the bench, but Mix has been significantly better in this tournament so it isn't much of a surprise. Matt Besler, who just joined the team, will partner Clarence Goodson in central defense with Chris Wondolowski and the preferred trio of attackers -- Joe Corona, Landon Donovan and Jose Francisco Torres -- in the band of three.
United States: Nick Rimando; Michael Parkhurst, Matt Besler, Clarence Goodson, DaMarcus Beasley; Kyle Beckerman, Mix; Joe Corona, Landon Donovan, Jose Francisco Torres; Chris Wondolowski.
The match kicks off at 4 p.m. ET on Big Fox. Gus Johnson and Eric Wynalda are on the call, but if they aren't your favorites, we're here to entertain you in this open thread -- commentary and humor guaranteed.
