After a less than ideal opening group match draw against Panama, the competition level drops significantly for the United States. While Martinique are currently leading Group B thanks to their victory over [the fourth team in the group that I’m not going to bother to look up because who cares], they shouldn’t be much of a threat to the U.S. in this one.
The final two group matches should be nothing but a formality for Bruce Arena and his side as he attempts to evaluate this ragtag bunch of fringe players he’s gathered together. Two standouts from the Panama draw were Dom Dwyer and Kelyn Rowe. It’s a safe bet we’ll see Dwyer once again as he tries to begin his USMNT career with three straight goals in three straight games. Rowe on the other hand has a bit more competition on the wing. We’ll have to wait and see what type of XI Arena will trot out.
