Sound off and be heard.

The MLS is Back tournament is set to complete its group stage over the next couple of days, and we currently know many of the teams that have advanced to the knockout stage. There are also 3 teams that know they will be headed home: Inter Miami CF, Atlanta United, and D.C. United.

Major League Soccer tried to make the group stage feel like more than a glorified exhibition tournament by declaring that the group stage matches would count towards the regular season standings. However, while some fans are treating this like the exhibition, one-off tournament it could be, others are treating these matches like potentially the final matches we see from the league in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

We don’t know what the future will hold for the 2020 regular season or the playoffs, despite the league’s desire to play more matches, but this triggers this week’s question: does the MLS is Back tournament matter to you? Of course, if you’re a fan of one of the eliminated teams or the teams that know they are in the knockout stage with a chance to win it, that could influence your decision. Likewise, if you think this tournament should be all that the league attempts to play or believe that the league will continue after the tournament is done, that too could play a role in your opinion.

In any case, hit the comments and let us know what you think of this tournament and whether you’re watching these matches for fun or if you bought all the way in!
