Sacha Kljestan won't be joining the LA Galaxy, after all. Reports had been rampant that the Southern California native was set to leave Anderlecht, but Kljestan shot those down in an early morning tweet.
Contrary to some reports, I have not signed for LA Galaxy and I am still an Anderlecht player. Thanks for the continued support!

The Galaxy had called a press conference for Thursday afternoon, which many had assumed was to announce Kljestan's signing. Whether or not that was the original plan, it now appears that will be used to talk about Landon Donovan's impending retirement.
Kljestan would have likely needed to go through the league's Allocation Order, where the Galaxy recently traded away Kofi Opare in order to move up to No. 3. The Columbus Crew currently occupy the top spot, while FC Dallas sits at No. 2. It's unclear what may have happened to keep the Kljestan from signing. It's possible that the Crew or Dallas decided to use their spot to pick him, but that seems increasingly unlikely as the transfer window is now closed and a deal would have already needed to be struck.
