Goal Boyd - RB Leipzig 3-1 Aue (29-10-2014) by DFBPokal
Terrence Boyd is just getting back from the torn ACL that sidelined for the start of the season, and he already has a goal.
The American scored on Wednesday in the DFB Pokal round of 32, where Red Bull Leipzig had been pushed to extra time by fellow 2. Bundesliga team FC Erzgebirge Aue. They went ahead early in extra time, then Boyd scored this goal to ice the match.
This wasn't the most spectacular goal, but it is good to see him drift back post and create space for himself. It's not like Boyd is ever going to be the most skillful, thrilling striker either, nor does he need to be. Red Bull Leipzig and the United States just need him to be big, physical, help win the ball, keep it and caught problems in front of goal. That's not pretty, but it's damn effective.
It's great to see Boyd back and getting on the scoresheet. Hopefully there are many more of these.
