Manchester United reportedly favorites for Emerson Hyndman

Emerson Hyndman is expected to leave Fulham after the season and Manchester United are the favorites to sign him, according to HITC Sport.

"He looks to be on his way, we have been told of a number of clubs who want him and are offering big deals, but United look to be in the strongest position," said a source at Fulham.

The report claims that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham are the other English clubs interested, with Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg also watching him.

Hyndman's contract at Fulham expires after the season and he will be free to leave. The 19-year-old struggled to make the first team early in the campaign, but finally did break through and has impressed with his performances of late. With a young, skilled midfielder like him available on a free, there are bound to be clubs lining up to sign him. It's just a matter of who those clubs will be.

HITC reports a lot of things and while they are right sometimes, they are wrong far more often. So are Manchester United even legitimately interested, let alone favorites? Who knows, but it's probably not a great idea to put a lot of money on it.

Keep an eye on what reports come out on Hyndman's future, though. He's a very talented player, and the type that the Untied States lacks. He's also pretty accomplished and proven for a 19-year-old, and he has a lot of opportunities in front of him. The next few months, as he looks for a new home, will be fun to watch.
