Yanks Abroad: Brooks returns, Dunn records brace

It was a fairly quiet week from our guys & gals playing abroad

We don’t have too much to highlight this week from the United States internationals playing abroad, but John Brooks returning from injury and a brace from Crystal Dunn were the bright spots. It is a shorter list this week, as a couple mainstays did not make an appearance, like Geoff Cameron (concussion) & Omar Gonzalez.

Here are the highlights of how the Yanks Abroad did this weekend:

Crystal Dunn
She contributed two goals and an assist as the Chelsea Ladies were running rampant in a 6-0 win.

John Brooks
Started at centerback for Wolfsburg’s 1-1 draw with FC Schalke 04. Great to see him turn in a solid 90 minute performance after being sidelined with a thigh injury for a few months.

Christian Pulisic
Pulisic went the distance as Borussia Dortmund were handed a 4-2 loss at Hannover 96. It’s a bit of a dry spell for BvB but they still sit in 2nd place, three points behind Bayern Munich.

Alfredo Morales
Picked up an assist in the 2. Bundesliga as Ingolstadt defeated Arminia Bielefeld 3-1.

Fabian Johnson
Came on in the 72nd minute in Borussia Mönchengladbach’s 3-1 win over Hoffenheim.

Bobby Wood
He started front & center for Hamburger SV but was subbed off in the 56’ minute. He has managed just one shot, off target, in his last three matches.

Weston McKennie
The 19-year-old got on the field twice last week for Schalke. He played the final 13 minutes of a 1-1 draw with Brooks’ Wolfsburg over the weekend after a 33 minute appearance in their 3-1 win over SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the DFB Pokal last Tuesday.

Matt Miazga
Went the full 90 picking up a yellow card along the way as Vitesse were defeated 4-2 by PSV Eindhoven.

Danny Williams
Williams was subbed out in the 69th minute as Huddersfield Town were given a dose of reality with a 3-0 loss to Liverpool.

Shaq Moore
The young American, who will turn 21 Thursday, has hit the scene with Levante, starting and going the full 90 in Levante’s 2-0 victory over Girona in the Copa del Rey, and appearing as a substitute in the 72nd minute in their 2-2 draw against Eibar in La Liga action.
