It was a fairly quiet weekend for the Yanks Abroad but here is your quick update:
John Anthony Brooks
We have to start out with Brooks again as he has been playing fantastic for Hertha Berlin. After earning a draw and holding Bayern Munich to a lone goal last week, Brooks turned in another great performance in a 2-0 shut out of Eintracht Frankfurt. The win saw Hertha Berlin leapfrog Frankfurt and move into 5th place. Brooks has shown some really encouraging growth lately. He’s playing smart defense and he is passing the ball extremely well.
Geoff Cameron
After being out for four months with a knee injury, Cameron got back on the field for Stoke. He came on in the 82nd minute as Tottenham Hotspur and Harry Kane were laying the hammer down on The Potters in a 4-0 drubbing. But it is good to see Geoff back in action.
Alex Morgan
Morgan did not play for Olympique Lyonnais in their 3-0 defeat of Montpellier while recovering from sickness, as per her twitter. Jill Ellis said in an interview with US Soccer that Morgan "took a knock in France" but will still be joining the team ahead of the SheBelieves Cup.
Fabian Johnson
Johnson turned in a solid performance as Borussia Mönchengladbach climbed into the top ten of the Bundesliga with a 2-0 win over Alfredo Morales & Ingolstadt.
Bobby Wood
He is dealing with a thigh injury. It isn’t thought to be serious and more good news is that he didn’t have to be a part of Hamburg’s 8-0 loss to Bayern Munich this weekend.
