Go on, Fab!

Another week and another American in the Bundesliga has made EA Sports’ Team of the Week from around the globe (or for the nation’s their company has the rights to). A few weeks after John Brooks earned the honor, his USMNT teammate Fabian Johnson has been named to the team thanks to his brace against Schalke this past weekend.

Fab joins some elite company in the TOTW. Players like Antoine Griezmann, Karim Benzema, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also feature. It’s a shame that Christian Pulisic was snubbed for his incredible second half performance against Bayer Leverkusen, in which he scored a goal and added an assist all in just 45 minutes.

Nevertheless, it’s cool seeing another American get recognized. It’s also encouraging to see Fabian kicking his form into another gear heading into World Cup qualifying. These are the types of performances that make it very hard to take him off the wing and push him back to left back. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Bruce has in store for him in two weeks.
