DeAndre Yedlin has survived the travesty of growing up in a single-entity world and has lived long enough to get the thrill of experiencing promotion. He will return to the Premier League next season as his side Newcastle United have officially clinched promotion today with a 4-1 victory against Preston North End.

The Magpies were on the other bitter end of promotion/relegation last season when they dropped to the Championship. However, the hiring of Rafa Benitez and the acquisition of good players like Yedlin have lifted them back into the Premier League after just one season.

Many were worried about Yedlin’s decision to leave Tottenham for a lower-division, but his choice has paid major dividends as he’s been one of Newcastle’s top performers all season and has drawn rave reviews. He’s to hoping he continues to play a big role for them as they return to the top flight in 2017-18.
