Yanks Abroad: 12 things to know from this past weekend

Fairly quiet from the national team players abroad this weekend, but we have your notable updates.

Soccer: 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying-Trinidad & Tobago at USA Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

Geoff Cameron

He assisted the match winning goal playing the full 90 as a right-back in Stoke’s 1-0 win over Southampton.

Fabian Johnson

Fabian went 74 minutes in Gladbach’s 2-2 draw with last place Darmstadt. BMG finished the season 9th in the Bundesliga.

Christian Pulisic

For reasons unknown, Pulisic keeps starting games on the bench and immediately making upon entering. This week he came on in the 46th minute and did very well in the second half as Dortmund won 4-3 and secured 3rd place and group stage of the UCL.

Crystal Dunn

She went the full 90 for Chelsea in their 2-2 tie with Arsenal. Unfortunately despite putting in the ball for Chelsea several times, she wasn't able to get the assist on a go-ahead goal.

Alex Morgan

No action on the pitch for Morgan, who's apparently still sidelined with a hamstring injury from her last game when Lyon beat PSG 3-0. Lyon still won the Coupe de France, going to PKs against PSG.

John Brooks

Hertha Berlin qualified for Europa League despite falling to Leverkusen by a final of 6-2. Brooks was taken off to start the 2nd half.

Carli Lloyd

Lloyd came on in the 76' for Manchester City in their game against Yeovil Town. City were already up 5-1 at the time; Lloyd went out in the 89' with a red card for throwing an elbow into Annie Heatherson's head. She's now on the hook for a three-game suspension, which would leave her available for only one more Man City game should the league see fit to punish her. You can see the foul below... Yikes.

Timmy Chandler

Timmy went the full 90 for Frankfurt in a 2-2 draw with RB Leipzig. Didn’t have the best numbers but he was quite involved and even had a couple shots.

Bobby Wood

He didn’t end his scoring drought but Hamburger SV beat Wolfsburg 2-1 to jump out of the relegation zone and finish 14th. The win saw them trade places with Wolfsburg. There were awesome scenes afterwards as fans celebrated on the pitch. Bobby was actually key in both goals for HSV, but as a striker he missed a chance to become a club legend by netting the goal to save them.

Weston McKennie

The 18 year old made his debut in the 77th minute for the Schalke first team this weekend. McKennie is formerly of the FC Dallas academy and joined Schalke in 2016.

Ethan Horvath

Horvath, just 21 years old, continues to play very well in goal for Club Brugge in Belgium. He went the full 90 in a 2-1 win over Gent this weekend.

Joe Corona

His Tijuana side lost by an aggregate final of 4-0 to the Tigres in the semifinals in Mexico. He went the full 90 in the second leg’s 2-0 loss. Paul Arriola came on in the 71st minute, by the way.
