United States International Fabian Johnson’s current contract with Borussia Monchengladbach expires in 2018. Which would signal that maybe a summer transfer would be in the offing, but he and the club have no intention of parting ways.
“It’s no secret we’re in talks. I feel good here, and I also hope [sporting director] Max Eberl is satisfied with my work here.”

Rumors had swirled around the 29-year-old midfielder that he may be headed to MLS - but those rumors never panned out. It would make sense for him to stay in Germany. He’s been to the Champions League the last two years, and when fit he’s usually a first choice starter for BMG.
Earlier this week Johnson returned to training after suffering a thigh injury in March, during their match with Schalke in the Europa League. He’s hoping to return and help his team qualify for Europe in the Bundesliga.
BMG currently sit 7 points out of a European spot.
