This past weekend saw American players playing outside of MLS appear one more time for their club before the FIFA international window begins. Some players were called up to the USMNT for upcoming World Cup qualifying and have already made the trip to the United States for the upcoming two matches. Before those matches happen, let’s take a look at how they fared over the weekend:
We start off with Bobby Wood, who smashed home his first goal of the season for Hamburger SV. Not that it was anything special, but it’s good to see him get on the board and hopefully he’ll continue the trend for Hamburg.
With Ousmane Dembele gone at Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic is set for not just more minutes but more responsibility. He went the full 90 as BvB defeated Hertha Berlin 2-0.
The 22-year-old keeper recorded a shutout for Club Brugge in a 4-0 win over Standard Liege in Belgium.
Haji Wright was loaned to SV Sandhausen of 2. Bundesliga after a great preseason for Schalke 04. He came on in the 56th minute in a 2-1 over Fortuna Düsseldorf.
Matt Miazga began the game on the bench but came on for the second half as Vitesse lost to AZ Alkmaar 2-1. He also picked up a yellow card in the 87’.
Omar Gonzalez went the full 90 for Pachuca in a 2-1 loss to Club Tijuana.
Alfredo Morales went the distance for Ingolstadt down in the 2. Bundesliga in a 1-0 win over Greuther Fuerth.
