Happy New Year Stars and Stripes!

As we head into the New Year, there’s a bit of English Premier League action including one game that could feature an American presence. So, let’s get a fresh year started the right way by watching some Americans in Europe:

Arsenal v Fulham - 10a on NBCSN

Tim Ream started his fifth straight game Saturday as Fulham defeated fellow relegation candidates Huddersfield Town in just their third win of the season. The win gave Fulham five points in their past three games, which gives them 14 on the season and puts them just two points back of safety. During the three game stretch, Fulham have given up just one goal, which is a significant change in direction from their previous goals allowed pace which was on the verge of being historically bad. However, it should be noted that during the three week stretch, Fulham were playing two of the most impotent offenses in the Premier League as well as a Wolverhampton side that is a touch below average.

It will be a much different opponent for Fulham this weekend as they take on an Arsenal team that has scored the third most goals in Premier League play through the first half of the season, averaging just over two goals per game. Arsenal are coming off a brutal 5-1 loss to league leaders Liverpool and will certainly be looking to take advantage of what has been a week Fulham defense to get things turned back around and start 2019 off right.

Who do you have in this New Year’s Day match?
