Josh Sargent has opened his Bundesliga account by scoring just 86 seconds after entering in his initial appearance with the Werder Bremen first team. Sargent entered the game in the 76th minute and scored just moments later on a tap in after the Dusseldorf keeper had blocked the initial attempt. It was his first touch in the Bundesliga.

Werder Bremen were up 2-1 before Sargent put the finishing touches on the match with his goal. With the goal Sargent set a record, scoring faster than any other Werder Bremen player in their debut.

It’s been quite the year for Sargent, who also scored in his USMNT debut in May as the United States coasted to a 3-0 win over Bolivia and scored his second in the teams 1-1 draw with Peru in October. Many USMNT fans have been tracking Sargent’s progress this fall as the team has suggested on several occasions that he was making good progress, but he had yet to appear for the team or make the bench. All that has changed now in extraordinary fashion.

Congrats and salute to the Sargent!
