Bobby Wood is looking for a new team. The United States international, per an ESPN report, has told Hamburger SV that he wishes to leave the recently-relegated side for a team in the Bundesliga.

The 25-year-old forward desires to remain in the top flight of German soccer next season with a move to a team, leaving his current Hamburg team that was recently relegated from the Bundesliga for the first time ever. Last season, Wood scored only 3 goals in 25 appearances, a disappointing season for him. Still, he thinks he can make it with another club and a fresh start.

Preseason begins this week for Hamburg, and Wood hopes to have a resolution soon. Recently, German outlet Kicker reported that Wood was linked with Hannover 96, and another German publication said that Dynamo Kiev were interested in the Hawaiian’s services. A few months ago, Steven Goff of the Washington Post reported that Wood was exploring the possibility of coming to MLS. In any event, it will be interesting to see if Wood ends up returning to the Bundesliga or receives a fresh start somewhere else.
