Fabian Johnson has hit the scoresheet for Borussia Mönchengladbach. In the 58th minute of their 2-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, Johnson played a wonderful give-and-go with Raffael to slot home their second goal.

Johnson, the 30-year-old who has featured on defense and on the wing for the United States, will hope to remain much healthier this season for ‘Gladbach, as he only managed 7 appearances last season. As for the USMNT, it’s undetermined whether we have seen the last of Fabian Johnson in the red, white and blue. Last summer, he talked about possible retirement from the national team after the 2018 World Cup, but that was before the United States failed to qualify for the World Cup. Will he still feature for the USMNT going forward as a veteran, or is his time done?
In any case, it’s great to see him back and playing well to start the season for Borussia Mönchengladbach. They next take on FC Augsberg next weekend, and our hope that this is the start of a healthy and productive season for Fabian Johnson.
