Joe Gyau has found the back of the net. The 26-year-old Silver Spring, Maryland native notched his first goal for 2. Bundesliga side MSV Duisberg today against SSV Jahn Regensburg. His goal came in the 24th minute with Duisberg down 2-0, as a cross into the 6-yard box sneaked past a few people into his area. Gyau then beautifully banged it home with a high right foot to bring The Zebras within one.

It was his first start this season for Duisberg, who would go on to lose 3-1 to Jahn Regensburg. Still, it’s good to see Gyau scoring goals again. He’s had a rough go of it the past few years, as he has battled several injuries that have seen him fall out of form and favor with several teams. He tore his meniscus and had a bone bruise while playing for the United States against Ecuador in October 2014. That, combined with other nagging injuries, led to a 3 year stretch where he only had 13 appearances for Borussia Dortmund II. Now, he appears to be healthy and hopefully will see his minutes increase as his form improves.
