Andrija Novakovich has found the back of the net. In the KNVB Cup (the Dutch Cup) against perennial powerhouse Feyenoord, Fortuna Sittard trailed 1-0 at halftime. Then, Novakovich scored after a nice move to pull the ball back away from the last defender.

Novakovich’s strike leveled the scored at 1, but Feyenoord was too much. They went on to score three times and finish off a dominant performance to knock Fortuna Sittard out of the competition.
For Novakovich, this is his 5th goal in all competitions this season. It ends a relatively long goal-scoring drought. He hadn’t found the back of the net since September 22nd, when he scored a brace against Willem II (he was out injured for a good chunk of that time though). The 22-year-old United States international likes playing against Feyenoord. He recorded a wonderful assist against them earlier this season.
Let’s hope this gives him the confidence to regain the form he had early in the season and go on a goal-scoring run.
