Valencia opened the scoring in the 40th minute before Mateo Kovacic leveled things just a minute later. Pulisic’s goal saw Chelsea take the lead for the first time in the match. Valencia would equalize off a Daniel Wass goal that was an intended cross that bounced off the post and into the net.
Pulisic was dangerous all afternoon, drawing a lot of attention from the defense but still holding himself well on the ball. The goal is Pulisic’s 6th of the 2019-2020 season across all competitions, all coming in the past month of play for the player who seems to be in the top form of his young career.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw, with Chelsea tied with Valencia atop Group H with 8 points with Ajax yet to play.
