El Clásico. The North London Derby. El Superclásico. The Old Firm. The Derby of the Eternal Enemies. Fla-Flu. Every year, some of the greatest rivalries in the world take center stage, and the world stops to watch. Whether it’s a league match or for a domestic or continental title, these matches are always fierce and separate neighbors, friends, and family members.

There are several rivalries in Major League Soccer that are great, but none have reached the level of one where an international audience will tune in. As fans of the United States Men’s National Team desire that the best young talent in the country test themselves by going abroad, it’s only a matter of time before we find Americans involved in some of these rivalries.

We’ve had players involved with some of the major rivalries before. With players seeing the field over the years at clubs like Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Rangers FC, Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund, Celtic FC, and Club América, some of these rivalries have had American players experience the madness and hostility.

This week’s Community Corner asks you: in what international club rivalry would you love to see an American participate? Hit the comments and let us know which rivalry you think would be great with some Americans running on the field.
