We saw some truly great performances from the Americans over the past week. Romain Gall put his team on his back to get a Cup win, Tyler Adams was one of the best players on the field in the Bundesliga, and even Julian Green got back on the score sheet. On the other hand, Andrija Novakovich and Erik Palmer-Brown were both absolutely destroyed in the Netherlands by finals of 6-0 & 5-0, respectively. Matt Miazga’s Reading were also pounded 4-0. And to top it off, Pulisic picked up a knock and was out of the lineup on Monday.

Sweden

Romain Gall
The 24-year-old had an assist and scored the match winner for Malmö FF in a 3-2 cup win over Degerfors. The assist came after a great run into the box and a dangerous ball that two different players could have scored. You can see him oozing with confidence as gets the ball in the buildup to his goal. There was absolutely nothing else on his mind and he blasted one passed the keeper from outside the box. He also got on the field for eight minutes last week in their 2-1 Europa League loss to Chelsea. ASSIST - GOAL

Scotland

Tim Weah
Timo made his European debut last week as Celtic fell 2-0 at the hands of Valencia. He came on for the last 31 minutes and completed 11/13 passes. (HIGHLIGHTS) Weah also came off the bench in the 13th minute on Sunday as Celtic won 1-0 after a late winner. After the final whistle he vented some frustration and earned a yellow card for it. But he showed some passion that many United States soccer fans will find quite refreshing. He also explained his feelings on Instagram. HIGHLIGHTS

Germany

Tyler Adams
After turning 20 year old last week, Adams turned in another great performance on Saturday as RB Leipzig beat Stuttgart 3-1. He assisted the third goal to lock down the win with a beautiful ball through the defense. Adams had the most successful dribbles in the match (4), created the most chances (2), and won the most duels (9). ASSIST

Gina Lewandowski
The defender scored her second goal of the season on Sunday as Bayern Munich beat Wolfsburg 4-2. Her goal is at 41:45 in the linked video. HIGHLIGHTS

Julian Green
Green scored his first goal since September with a penalty kick to open the scoring in Greuther Fürth’s 2-2 draw with Holstein Kiel. He had the most tackles in the match with three, but completed just 65% of his passes and lost possession five times - also the most of any player. GOAL

John Brooks
Brooks followed up a miserable performance last week by helping to lock down a 3-0 shutout of Mainz 05. He won seven of nine duels and completed 37/43 passes. The 26-year-old also contributed seven clearances and five recoveries.

Christian Pulisic
The Borussia Dortmund man featured in their 3-0 loss against Tottenham in the Champions League last week, picking up a knock along the way. So he was not in the lineup on Monday for the 0-0 draw at Nürnberg. Read more on Pulisic in the Youth Update.

Weston McKennie
Schalke 04 drew with Freiburg over the weekend with McKennie playing 90 minutes at right-back. Domenico Tedesco continues to use him all over the pitch and McKennie continues to produce for him. He completed 88% of his passes and created one chance. He finished the day with six clearances, three interceptions, and four recoveries.

Fabian Johnson
Making his first appearance since December, Johnson started and went the distance for Borussia Mönchengladbach in a 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt. The right-back was 74% passing with a few good moments so hopefully his manager keeps him in the mix.

Alfredo Morales
28-year-old Morales went the full 90 for Fortuna Düsseldorf in a 2-0 loss at Bayer Leverkusen. He touched the ball just 20 times the entire match as he did a lot of defensive work and blocked up passing lanes. He completed 7/11 passes with two clearances, three interceptions, and three recoveries.

Josh Sargent
He entered Werder Bremen’s 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin in the 75th minute with his team down a goal. Sargent got 11 touches on the ball, took one shot that was off target, and completed 3/5 passes.

Bobby Wood
The striker came off the bench in the 67th minute with Hannover 96 down two goals. Unfortunately, Wood wasn’t able to provide the boost and Hoffenheim went on to win 3-0. He was able to complete all seven passes, but his one shot was off target and he was also dispossessed once.

Belgium

Ethan Horvath
The Club Brugge keeper was in goal for a big 2-1 Europa League win over RB Salzburg. In the 17th minute he tripped and allowed an easy chip over his head to open the scoring. He was left looking at the turf hoping to see something that caused the spill. But he did make four saves, a couple of which were quite nice. Brugge take the one-goal lead into the 2nd leg at Salzburg on Thursday. (HIGHLIGHTS) Horvath also featured in the 3-1 win over Genk on Sunday. That win brought them within 8 points of Genk at the top of the table.

England

Bri Visalli
West Ham United bossed the Huddersfield Town Ladies 8-1 in FA Cup action. Bri fired a bullet into the roof of the net in the 71st minute for the sixth of the day. HIGHLIGHTS

Matt Miazga
Reading defeated Blackburn Rovers 2-1 on Wednesday with Miazga playing all 90 minutes. He had six clearances, two interceptions, and two recoveries with 77% pass success. But then over the weekend they were beat down by Sheffield United 4-0. The centerback completed 83% of his passes but that was about the only positive from this one.

Duane Holmes
Derby County played a league match on Wednesday with Holmes playing the first 73 minutes. He started on the right wing and was dispossessed four times in the match, more than any other player. He also picked up a yellow card. Holmes also got the start in Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup loss at Brighton. This time he was on the left side but was pretty quiet and subbed off at halftime. HIGHLIGHTS

Lynden Gooch
The Sunderland man played 77 minutes in a 2-2 draw with Accrington Stanley. It was a missed opportunity for the Black Cats to jump into third place, but they still have a game-in-hand to work with.

Australia

Savannah McCaskill
McCaskill recorded a brace along with an assist as Sydney FC won the 2019 Grand Final over the Perth Glory 4-2.

Sophia Huerta
She opened the scoring in the final with an absolute bullet into the roof of the net from 20 yards out.

Alyssa Mautz
On the other end of the final, Mautz scored a goal in the 68th minute for Perth.

Nikki Stanton
Stanton also got in on the action for Perth with an assist.

GRAND FINAL HIGHLIGHTS

Netherlands

Andrija Novakovich
The 22-year-old was was on the wrong side of a shellacking as Fortuna Sittard lost to Heracles 6-0. The forward failed to take a single shot in 90 minutes and completed 10/15 passes.

Erik Palmer-Brown
The good news - EPB got the start for NAC Breda against Ajax. The bad news - They lost 5-0 and he was credited with an own-goal on the fifth and final blow. Read more about it in the Youth Update, if you must. HIGHLIGHTS
