That's 2 @Bundesliga_EN goals in 3 weeks for the American, and @s04_us are back in it at Frankfurt. pic.twitter.com/i0AqtrB2wb
Off a free kick from the right corner, Alessandro Schöpf Alessandro Schopf sent a wonderful ball into the box. McKennie, jostling with a few players, was still able to rise over everyone to deliver a powerful header across frame into the right side of the net.
It was McKennie’s 3rd goal of the year for Schalke, who have been in free fall in since January. They are currently in 10th place in the Bundesliga when just a few weeks ago, they were contending for Champions League positioning. McKennie has served well for the team despite playing many different positions. His 3 goals are 3 of 5 scored by Schalke since January 17th. They’ll need more production if they want to insert themselves back into the chase for Europa League positioning, and this goal will only give Weston more confidence as they hit the final few games.
