Tyler Boyd will likely miss some matches for Turkish Super Lïg side Besiktas after the club announced that he had suffered a PCL injury in his knee last week. The injury apparently occurred during a training session on August 27th.

Tyler Boyd had been a regular feature in the lineup for Besiktas, logging 28 appearances last season for the Black Eagles in all competitions, with 3 goals and an assist. He most recently started and played 45 minutes in a 3-1 loss to PAOK in Champions League qualifying. He also became a regular in the United States Men’s National Team lineup, with 10 caps since he filed a one-time switch to move from the New Zealand national team to the USMNT in May 2019. He has 2 goals and an assist for the USMNT since he became eligible to play.
With the Super Lïg scheduled to begin in 2 weeks, it looks doubtful that Tyler Boyd will be ready for Besiktas’ first match against Trabzonspor. Let’s hope that he can heal quickly and return to the lineup soon.
