USMNT midweek viewing guide: Drama in Italy, France

Weah and McKennie with big games; Pulisic in UCL.

Tim Weah and Weston McKennie have important matches in Serie A and the French Cup this week, and Christian Pulisic faces Atletico Madrid in Champions League action. Let’s get into it! Here’s a snapshot of the USMNT players in action:

Tuesday

  • Manchester City v Borussia Mönchengladbach, 4p on Paramount+, fuboTV, Galavision, Sling TV, TUDN.com, Univision NOW, TUDNxtra: Zack Steffen figures to be a bystander as City host ‘Gladbach, trying to make the Champions League quarterfinals. City won the away leg 2-0. Joe Scally likely won’t suit up for ‘Gladbach, as he’s started 4 straight for their reserves.

  • Rotherham United v Watford, 3p: Matt Olosunde and Rotherham will be massive underdogs, as Watford sit 20 places above them in the table.
  • Bournemouth v Swansea City, 3:45p on ESPN+: Cameron Carter-Vickers hasn’t missed a minute of Bournemouth’s last 9. They’ve dropped to 7th in the table, out of the promotion playoffs (partially due to Daryl Dike and Barnsley’s rise).
  • Antofagasta v Huachipato, 8:30p on Fanatiz, beIN SPORTS XTRA: New York-born attacking mid Andrés Souper is a rotational player for Antofagasta, who are in the Copa Sudamericana round of 32. Sudamericana is South America’s version of the Europa League.

Wednesday

  • Paris Saint-Germain v Lille, 12:45p on beIN SPORTS USA, fuboTV, Fanatiz, Sling TV: Tim Weah and Lille face PSG in the French cup round of 16. Lille hold a slim 3-point lead over PSG in the Ligue 1 table.
  • Juventus FC v Napoli, 1:45p on ESPN+, fuboTV, Fanatiz: Weston McKennie and Juventus won their first league match after being knocked out of the Champions League, but they still trail Inter by 10 points.
  • Chelsea FC v Atletico Madrid, 4p on Paramount+, TUDN USA, UniMás, fuboTV, TUDN.com, Univision NOW, TUDNxtra: Christian Pulisic got a 3’ cameo in Chelsea’s 1-0 win in the away leg; he could join Gio Reyna and potentially Zack Steffen in the quarterfinals.

  • Jahn Regensburg v Greuther Fürth, 1:30p: Julian Green has missed Fürth’s last 3 due to covid; they sit 3 points out of the promotion playoff. German dual-nat winger Jann George has started 6 of 9 for Jahn Regensburg.
  • Wycombe Wanderers v Barnsley, 3p: Daryl Dike and Barnsley are in the 6th and final promotion playoff position; they face last-place Wycombe.

Thursday

  • Shakhtar Donetsk v AS Roma, 1:55p on Paramount+, Galavision, fuboTV, Sling TV, TUDN.com, Univision NOW, TUDNxtra: Bryan Reynolds got his Serie A debut Sunday, coming on for the last 30 minutes in a 0-2 loss to Parma. He could get his Europa League debut as Roma travels to Kiev, holding a 3-0 aggregate lead.
  • Arsenal v Olympiakos, 1:55p on Paramount+, UniMás, fuboTV, TUDN.com, Univision NOW, TUDNxtra: Folarin Balogun played in all 4 for Arsenal in the group stage of the Europa League, but has been frozen out of the side since he won’t sign a new contract and his current deal is up in the summer. The Gunners hold a 3-1 lead and will be playing at home.
  • BSC Young Boys v Ajax, 4p on Paramount+, Galavision, fuboTV, Sling TV, TUDN.com, Univision NOW, TUDNxtra: Gerardo Seoane opted to leave recent USMNT commit Jordan Siebatcheu on the bench for the first leg away to Ajax, and Young Boys suffered a 0-3 loss. They’ll be looking for a miracle turnaround in the home leg.
