With many leagues around the world wrapping up their seasons, it was a very exciting weekend for soccer. There was a lot on the line for the Americans, so let’s get right to the updates!
It was the goal to bring his team level in the match, but Julian Green’s 69th minute goal in a 3-2 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf secured Greuther Fürth’s promotion! Timothy Tillman was on the bench and did not feature, but two Americans are headed for the Bundesliga.

Jann George also scored an important goal in Germany’s second tier. The 28-year-old opened the scoring in the 14th minute as Jahn Regensburg beat St. Pauli 3-0 to avoid relegation.
It was a happy day but frustrating match for Chelsea FC. Christian Pulisic got himself a nice assist on the lone goal in the 2-1 loss vs Aston Villa. With some help from Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City, Chelsea and Pulisic booked their spot in the UEFA Champions League next season. But first, they’re taking on Manchester City this weekend for this year’s UCL title.

Brenden Aaronson picked up two assists in the final game of the season for RB Salzburg. The 4-0 shutout win vs Swarovski Tirol was a nice cherry on top for Jesse Marsch’s squad. They’d already secured the title and will be go into the UCL qualification stage for next season. The assists were both fantastic efforts, watch those below or check out this video will all his touches on the day.

Cameron Carter-Vickers got an unusual assist in a tough 3-1 loss at Brentford. Bournemouth went into the match with the aggregate lead but lost 3-2 and were eliminated from Championship promotion playoffs. Although, CCV may be making the jump to the Premier League anyway. His loan with Bournemouth comes to an end this month. SBI reports Newcastle United & Anderlecht have both had discussions with Tottenham about acquiring the 23-year-old’s services.
Daryl Dike & Barnsley were also eliminated from the playoffs after 2-1 aggregate loss vs Swansea City.
Very unfortunate end to the season. So proud of what everyone @BarnsleyFC accomplished this season and grateful I could be apart of it. Thank you teammates, staff, and fans who have made this experience one I could never forget❤️❤️ #youreds pic.twitter.com/8TDknpyVo4

The most unfortunate result of the weekend, that is if you watch Sunderland ‘Til I Die, was for Lynden Gooch at the Black Cats. They will be playing in England’s third tier for a fourth straight season after a 3-2 aggregate loss vs Lincoln in the Promotion Semifinal. Gooch played 89 minutes in the 2-1 second leg win, but it wasn’t enough. The 25-year-old will finish out the final year of his contract as the historic club fight to climb out of League One yet again.

Lille won the French Ligue 1 title on Sunday with a 2-1 win at Angers. Tim Weah was on the bench, but did not feature.

Juventus qualified for the UCL on the final day of the season, much later than the Italian giants have grown accustomed. Weston McKennie came off the bench for the final half hour of the 4-1 win at Bologna. Juve were also fortunate that Napoli only came up with a draw, but anything less than a win would have put them in the Europa League next season.

With his team down two goals and out of europe, Bryan Reynolds came on for the second half. Roma scored two goals to finish 2-2 at Sepzia & earn the point they needed to qualify for the inaugural season of the Europa Conference League, the new third tier of European club football.
