USMNT vs. Colombia: Lineups and match thread

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The United States is set to take on Colombia at Craven Cottage in London, England, and Jurgen Klinsmann has his team to do it. The lineup is generally predictable, but with a couple surprises. Most notably, Rubio Rubin mill make his first international appearance, paired up front with Jozy Altidore, and Greg Garza gets the nod at left back over DaMarcus Beasley.

It will be interesting to see how Rubin plays because he is capable of drifting out wide or dropping deep into the midfield. With Altidore up front, he'll have the freedom to do so. Garza's defensive play will also be tested by Juan Cuadrado, Colombia's outstanding winger. The left back's defense is his biggest weakness and he won't be able to get away with average defending against Cuadrado.

Also notable is Jermaine Jones back in the center of defense. DeAndre Yedlin is at right back, a mild surprise since he played for the Seattle Sounders on Monday and had a quick turnaround.

United States: Guzan; Yedlin, Jones, Brooks, Garza; Beckerman; Bedoya, Diskerud, F. Johnson; Altidore, Rubin

Colombia: Vargas; Armero, Franco, Murillo, Arias; Rodriguez, Sanchez, Aguilar; Bacca, Gutierrez, Cuadrado

The match starts at 2:45 p.m. ET and is on ESPN and UniMas. Tune in, share your thoughts and hold out hope as the U.S. gets one of the stiffest tests they could imagine.
