Tim Ream replaces injured John Brooks on USMNT roster

Tim Ream was not on the United States' roster for friendlies against Colombia and Ireland. After the first match, when Jurgen Klinsmann sent a few players back to their clubs, he chose not to call anyone in to replace them either. And yet, when the team sheet for the Ireland friendly came out, there was Ream on the bench.

Apparently, he has been called up to replace John Brooks, who has a minor ankle injury. U.S. Soccer announced the roster change less than an hour before the friendly.

The good news is that Brooks' injury is not serious. They called him being omitted from the team a "precaution" so it would be surprising to see him miss much time, if any, after today.

It is unclear how long Ream has been with the team. He could have joined right after the Colombia friendly and trained with the squad in the event that Brooks' injury did not heal or he could have joined them today. It will be good to see him back with the team because he has played well with Bolton Wanderers and if he gets a chance, hopefully he plays well.
