USMNT vs. Costa Rica: Lineups and match thread

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The United States is back in action tonight. That may not be good news to all, but the team needs to sort things out. The loss to Mexico on Saturday was another knock on the squad and with World Cup qualifying around the corner, leaving the Americans with only tonight to try to get things going in the right direction before they have to play for their spot in Russia for 2018.

Tonight's match marks the return of Tim Howard, who is making his first appearance for the U.S. since his magnificent performance against Belgium at last year's World Cup. He'll be behind another shuffled back line, with Brad Evans, Geoff Cameron, Michael Orozco and Tim Ream making up the back four. Gyasi Zardes will get the chance to prove his worth up top, starting alongside Jozy Altidore, but their play will depend greatly on the service provided by the four-man midfield.

The match kicks off at 7:07 p.m. ET, even if U.S. Soccer says 6:30 p.m. ESPN will have it live, while UniMas will show it in Spanish and Watch ESPN will handle the streaming.

USA lineup: Howard; Evans, Cameron, Orozco, Ream; Yedlin, Williams, Jones, Shea; Zardes, Altidore
