WATCH: Dom Dwyer scores first international goal 19 minutes into USMNT career

Uh oh.

Have the United States men’s national team found itself a new striker? Dom Dwyer certainly is making his case. The newly naturalized U.S. citizen and longtime MLS talisman got the start today in a Gold Cup warm-up friendly against Ghana and made the most of it by scoring just 19 minutes into the match.

After a couple of half chances didn’t go his way early in the match, a golden chance fell right in his lap and he made no mistake by slamming home a finish with his preferred left foot. The play was created by Jorge Villafana with high pressure. Joe Corona attempted a shot that hit off the left back and fell right to Dwyer to hammer in.
