England v United States - International Friendly

The United States men’s national team finishes off 2018 with a neutral ground friendly with Italy in Belgium today. After getting thoroughly dominated by England last week, Dave Sarachan is hoping his reign as USMNT interim manager comes to an end on a little bit better of a note.

Just like the USMNT, Italy failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup and have undergone a bit of a rebuild of their own. Most recently, they managed to finish second in their three-team group in the UEFA Nations League to remain in the top tier League A.

No Americans covered themselves in glory against England. The young squad will be looking to bounce back both individually and collectively. Weston McKennie, Kenny Saief, and Luca de la Torre have all been sent home early. You’d expect Tyler Adams to get his spot in the starting lineup back after he was left on the bench to start against England due to late travel and fatigue.

Here’s to hoping we get a little bit of enjoyment out of this one to wash the taste of Thursday out of our mouths. Go team...
