USMNT 22-man roster named for Bolivia friendly

Lots of youth, but changes will be made before the team heads to Europe

The United States will bring a very young squad to Chester. Interim manager Dave Sarachan today announced the 22-man roster that will take on Bolivia on Memorial Day. The roster has an average age of 22 and continues the trend of Sarachan using the rosters to evaluate the younger talent in the player pool. Christian Pulisic returns to the roster for the first time since the Hex and leads the group of very young players.

The roster who will be available for next week’s friendly:

GOALKEEPERS (3): Alex Bono (Toronto FC), Bill Hamid (FC Midtjylland), Ethan Horvath (Club Brugge)

DEFENDERS (8): Cameron Carter-Vickers (Tottenham Hotspur), Eric Lichaj (Nottingham Forest), Matt Miazga (Chelsea), Matthew Olosunde (Manchester United), Erik Palmer-Brown (Manchester City), Antonee Robinson (Everton), Jorge Villafana (Santos Laguna), Walker Zimmerman (Los Angeles Football Club)

MIDFIELDERS (8): Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Lynden Gooch (Sunderland), Julian Green (Stuttgart), Alejandro Guido (Club Tijuana), Weston McKennie (Schalke 04), Keaton Parks (Benfica), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Rubio Rubin (Club Tijuana), Tim Weah (Paris Saint-Germain)

FORWARDS (2): Andrija Novakovich (Reading FC), Josh Sargent (Werder Bremen)

“Numerous” changes are expected to the roster after this match as the team heads to Europe for friendlies against Ireland and France.
