The United States Men’s National Team opened up 2019 with a 3-0 victory over Panama Sunday evening in Glendale, Arizona. In the first of two matches during this January Camp, the USMNT gave Gregg Berhalter his first victory as USMNT head coach. The team looked together and executed their gameplan, and there were quite a few memorable performances.
In the end, the SSFC community thought one guy had a performance that stood out above the rest. That player was Djordje Mihailovic, the 20-year-old midfielder from the Chicago Fire who was celebrating his first call up and cap for the senior national team. He marked that debut with his first international goal in the 40th minute that gave the USMNT a lead they would never relinquish. For that, he was voted the Stars & Stripes FC Man of the Match.
