Gregg Berhalter’s first chance to gather any player he likes for a USMNT game is upon us. January Camp was an interesting sneak peek at what the new national team manager has up his sleeve, but now we get the official premiere. This will be the first time we’ll get to see how he will utilize players like Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams.
There have already been some interesting revelations made by Berhalter. He’s made a statement already saying that Tyler Adams will be deployed in his hybrid right back role that will tuck into the midfield whenever possible. He also has mentioned that he plans on playing DeAndre Yedlin as a winger ... uh, okay.
A few of the promising youngsters that shined in the Dave Sarachan era are with the U-23’s, but we should still get a very good idea of what the team will look like for the foreseeable future under a new regime. Let’s hope it’s not terrible.
