Yesterday, United States Men’s National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter named the 22-man travel roster who will head to Carson, California for the team’s January Camp friendly against Costa Rica. The USMNT will take on the Ticos Saturday at Dignity Health Sports Park.
Three players — JT Marcinkowski, Jordan Morris, and Cristian Roldan — were released to their clubs. Marcinkowski will head back to the San Jose Earthquakes, while Morris and Roldan will rejoin the Seattle Sounders to being training for the CONCACAF Champions League.
The 22-man travel roster for the USMNT:
GOALKEEPERS (3): Sean Johnson (New York City FC), Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Matt Turner (New England Revolution)
DEFENDERS (8): Julian Araujo (LA Galaxy), Reggie Cannon (FC Dallas), Chase Gasper (Minnesota United), Justen Glad (Real Salt Lake), Aaron Long (New York Red Bulls), Mark McKenzie (Philadelphia Union), Sam Vines (Colorado Rapids), Walker Zimmerman (Los Angeles Football Club)
MIDFIELDERS (6): Brenden Aaronson (Philadelphia Union), Christian Cappis (Hobro), Bryang Kayo (Unattached), Sebastian Lletget (LA Galaxy), Brandon Servania (FC Dallas), Jackson Yueill (San Jose Earthquakes)
FORWARDS (5): Paul Arriola (D.C. United), Jesus Ferreira (FC Dallas), Jonathan Lewis (Colorado Rapids), Ulysses Llanez (Wolfsburg), Gyasi Zardes (Columbus Crew SC)
Berhalter hopes this group can come away with a win against Costa Rica on Saturday. In a statement released by U.S. Soccer, Berhalter expressed his desire for the remaining players to “take advantage of the opportunity and finish off the month with a positive result.”
All focus now on .
