The United States Men’s National Team is moving quickly with its December plans. After announcing yesterday that they would face El Salvador in a friendly in South Florida on December 9th, today head coach Gregg Berhalter released the 22-man roster that he will call into camp. More players could be added to the camp depending on the results of the MLS Western Conference Semifinals, which includes the Seattle Sounders, FC Dallas, Sporting Kansas City, and Minnesota United.

The camp roster is comprised almost entirely of players based in Major League Soccer. Like last month’s roster that took on Wales and Panama, there is a lot of youth on this squad, and several guys who are new to the national team setup. 12 players on this initial roster have yet to earn a cap with the USMNT. Also, like last month, Berhalter is bringing in young dual nationals who have options outside of the USMNT. However, there are some experienced players on this lineup as well and names that should be familiar to USMNT fans.

The USMNT roster:

GOALKEEPERS (3): CJ Dos Santos (Benfica), Bill Hamid (D.C. United), David Ochoa (Real Salt Lake)

DEFENDERS (8): Julian Araujo (LA Galaxy), Kyle Duncan (New York Red Bulls), Marco Farfan (Portland Timbers), Aaron Long (New York Red Bulls), Mark McKenzie (Philadelphia Union), Mauricio Pineda (Chicago Fire), Sam Vines (Colorado Rapids), Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC)

MIDFIELDERS (5): Brenden Aaronson (Philadelphia Union), Kellyn Acosta (Colorado Rapids), Frankie Amaya (FC Cincinnati), Cole Bassett (Colorado Rapids), Sebastian Lletget (LA Galaxy)

FORWARDS (6): Ayo Akinola (Toronto FC), Efrain Alvarez (LA Galaxy), Paul Arriola (D.C. United), Daryl Dike (Orlando City SC), Djordje Mihailovic (Chicago Fire), Chris Mueller (Orlando City SC)
