United States Men’s National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter has brought in another player to training camp, announcing today that Telstar forward Sebastian Soto has been added to the team roster for the match on December 9th against El Salvador.

The 20-year-old forward, on loan with Telstar from Norwich City, earned his first call-up to the USMNT last month. He appeared as a substitute in the 6-2 win against Panama, scoring 2 goals after entering in the 77th minute. He was the 5th USMNT player to have a brace in his debut and only the 2nd to do it as a substitute.

Soto has 6 goals in 9 matches for Telstar this season, enough to share the team lead. Because the USMNT match against El Salvador is occurring outside a FIFA international window, Telstar was allowed to block his release. However, after receiving a red card in their last league match, Sebastian was set to serve a suspension. Telstar allowed for Soto to be released for the El Salvador match knowing he would not be available for them.

The current 24-man roster for the USMNT:

GOALKEEPERS (3): CJ Dos Santos (Benfica), Bill Hamid (D.C. United), JT Marcinkowski (San Jose Earthquakes)

DEFENDERS (8): Julian Araujo (LA Galaxy), Kyle Duncan (New York Red Bulls), Marco Farfan (Portland Timbers), Aaron Long (New York Red Bulls), Mark McKenzie (Philadelphia Union), Mauricio Pineda (Chicago Fire), Sam Vines (Colorado Rapids), Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC)

MIDFIELDERS (6): Brenden Aaronson (Philadelphia Union), Kellyn Acosta (Colorado Rapids), Cole Bassett (Colorado Rapids), Sebastian Lletget (LA Galaxy), Andrés Perea (Orlando City), Jackson Yueill (San Jose Earthquakes)

FORWARDS (6): Ayo Akinola (Toronto FC), Efrain Alvarez (LA Galaxy), Paul Arriola (D.C. United), Daryl Dike (Orlando City SC), Djordje Mihailovic (Chicago Fire), Chris Mueller (Orlando City), Sebastian Soto (Telstar)
