USMNT drops four spots in FIFA rankings to No. 31

The FIFA World Rankings continue to be unkind to the U.S.

The United States is now No. 31 in the FIFA World Rankings. The system has been pushing the Americans lower and lower for the better part of a year, and now they've fallen out of the top 30.

The Americans won just one match at the World Cup and have struggled since. They beat the Czech Republic in their first match after Brazil, then drew two, then lost two to close out the year. They started 2015 with a loss to Chile and while they did beat Panama last weekend, it didn't quite make up for the rough six months they had prior.

With the drop in the rankings, the U.S. now sits behind Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ecuador and Denmark. Costa Rica remain the top ranked CONCACAF side at No. 13. Mexico is second, 10 spots ahead of the U.S.

Unsurprisingly, the best teams in the FIFA rankings remain unchanged. Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, Netherlands, Brazil and Portugal are the top seven, as was the case last month.
