USMNT stay at No. 32 in January FIFA rankings

The United States is still No. 32 in the latest FIFA rankings. Their place isn't much of a shock considering most of the teams in the world did not play in December, giving the rankings no new results that would contribute to movement.

The U.S. was one of the teams that did not play in December. Their last matches were in November, which the December FIFA rankings already accounted for.

One team that did move was Mexico. They fell one spot to No. 23, which still makes them tops in CONCACAF. The Americans are the next highest in the region, with Costa Rica checking in after them at No. 37. Trinidad and Tobago are the only other CONCACAF team in the top 50.

The U.S. has two friendlies before the February FIFA rankings, against No. 36 Iceland and No. 88 Canada. Neither are powerhouses and because they are friendlies, they aren't weighted especially heavily, but they could still be worth a few places to the U.S. if they can pick up a win or two.
