Copa America 2016: USA vs Ecuador odds and betting lines

Where's the line?

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The United States is taking on Ecuador in the quarterfinals of the Copa America Centenario at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington. Most odds makers have Ecuador as a very slight favorite.

Paddy Power has the United States (13/8) favored over Ecuador (7/4).

Just Bet has Ecuador at +170 favored over the United States at +176.

5Dimes has Ecuador at +176 favored over the United States at +184.

BetDSI has Ecuador at +170 favored over the United States at +176.

William Hill has the two nations even at +170.

The U.S., hosting the tournament, won Group A with six points. They lost to Colombia, 2-0. beat Costa Rica, 4-0, and beat Paraguay, 1-0.

Ecuador finished in second in Group B, behind Peru, with five points. Ecuador opened group play with a scoreless tie against Brazil, tied Peru, 2-2, and defeated Haiti, 4-0.

The two nations faced off in a friendly prior to the Copa America on My 25th in Frisco, Texas. The U.S. won the match, 1-0, thanks to a 90th minute goal from Darlington Nagbe.

Should Ecuador be favored (albeit only slightly)? Although they are rated higher by FIFA and have an (arguably) more talented roster, the U.S. is on an upward swing and will be playing at home. It's difficult to quantify the effect home field advantage will have on the match, but it should be significant. Seattle fans tend to pack the house at CenturyLink Field and will provide vocal support.

As it stands right now, the match is a toss up and should be an exciting one to watch.

PREDICTION: U.S. defeats Ecuador, 3-2.
