In 2013, the United States Soccer Federation marked its 100th anniversary, and on the men’s side, they celebrated it by having one of its best years ever. With the calendar busy with 2014 World Cup qualifying and the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, the team was pushed by some tough opponents. They responded with a 16-4-3 record in 2013, including 12 straight wins from June to August.

What we also saw in 2013 was a ton of goals. Jozy Altidore and Landon Donovan both had 8 on the year, with Clint Dempsey and Chris Wondolowski with 6 each and Eddie Johnson adding 5. Some were against big opponents, like Germany, others were in iconic moments (the Snow Clasico in Denver against Costa Rica). Others came when they were needed the most, like Brad Evans’ game-winning goal against Jamaica at The Office in World Cup qualifying.

On this Thanksgiving throwback, we give you some of the best USMNT goals in 2013. It was a great year for the team, and some of these goals are just as amazing now as they were then. Enjoy the turkey and the glimpse back in time to a year that can only make fans of the USMNT smile.
