Finally, 2020 is starting to give us some hints as to what we can expect from the new jerseys for the United States Men’s National Team. Today, Footy Headlines leaked a sneak peak at the new training top and jackets for the USMNT.
Keeping in line with what Nike has been doing with their club teams this year, the old school Nike logo is on the front in white instead of the modern Swoosh. The training top looks to be navy blue with a red and white stripe on the left sleeve that goes onto the back. The U.S. Soccer crest is prominent on the front left chest.
The back is also all navy blue with the red and white stripe creeping into view. The back also has “United States Soccer” and the old school Nike logo right underneath in the middle.
Finally, Footy Headlines gives us a look at the jackets that are purportedly the one that will be used with the new jerseys.
The home jacket is white with navy blue trim on the neck, waist, and sleeves. The jacket also has a red stripe going all the way down the sleeves. Finally, the away jacket is reportedly all navy blue with “States” across the back in white and an optional hood.
Based on this, we can assume that the 2020 home jersey will be predominantly white, while the 2020 away jersey for the USMNT will be predominantly navy blue. Last year’s away jersey for both the USMNT and USWNT was red, while the 2018 away was navy blue. We don’t have any other information on what details will be included on the home and away jersey, but the 2020 national team templates for Nike all have a look inspired by the 2000s with a lightning design on the sides of the torso below the armpit. They also have done away with the raglan-style sleeves.
