Straight off the international break, the full fury of European football is unleashed once more this week, with at least 7 American likely to feature in Champions League, plus a plethora of other competitions, including Europa League, MLS, Argentine and Brazilian domestic ties, and Conference League.
Let’s get into it!
Tuesday
- Celtic v Ferencváros, 10:30a on Paramount+, fuboTV (free trial), TUDN.com: These two teams both have 0 points after 2 Europa matchdays. Cameron Carter-Vickers has played every minute for Celtic since arriving from Spurs on loan. With his help, Celtic have conceded just 3 goals in 6 domestic games, but they’ve allowed 8 in 2 Europa League games. Their Europa opponent features American RB Henry Wingo, who has racked up 1,365 minutes already this season, going back to July.

Zack Steffen earned rave reviews from Pep Guardiola after holding Burnley to a clean sheet Saturday. The American could get his second-ever Champions League start depending on Ederson, whose availability is still up in the air following international duty with Brazil. Owen Otasowie signed with Brugge two months ago, but has yet to play with the first team, making the matchday squad twice for league matches and once in Champions League.
